On behalf of clients, MLN Land and Properties Ltd, Broadgrove have submitted a large-scale residential application for up to 650 units at Minster-on-Sea, Swale Borough Council. The outline proposals also identify land for a Community Hub and extensive areas of green infrastructure and landscaping, as well as an over-compliant level of on-site affordable housing.

Recognising the housing land supply shortfall that exists in Swale BC currently, Broadgrove provided advice on the illustrative layout with an ultimate focus on deliverability. The two access points to the site will allow for the parcelling of development, ensuring housing delivery in the short-to-medium terms and without the need for large-scale infrastructure to be delivered first. Input was also provided from the offset by Aspect Landscape Planning, to ensure the proposals were ‘landscape-led’ in response to pre-application feedback received from the local authority.

The project team also included Baldwin Design, Create Consulting Engineers, Lanpro Services, Adonis Ecology and PG Consulting Ltd, who provided technical input on various matters from highways to utilities. Determination of the application is anticipated later in 2022.
