Lancaster City Council planning committee resolved to grant planning permission for a major redevelopment of Lune Industrial Estate subject to the signing of a Section 106 Agreement.
The application, which was submitted by Broadgrove on behalf of Hurstwood Holdings, will rationalise the accommodation within the estate. The new buildings will provide an additional 14,499m² of B2/B8 floorspace with a variety of units for large and small businesses. An amenity block will provide ancillary and community uses including a nursery, a pharmacy/convenience store and a café.
The proposals also include significant improvements to the site infrastructure including improved access, formalised car parking and comprehensive landscaping. Planning contributions will be used for the provision of a new bus service to the site to improve sustainability.
